Kamen Rider Super 1



Kamen Rider Super-1 was the only Kamen Rider
to be given his powers by American scientists.



Kamen Rider Super-1 starts in the United States of America where Oki, Kazuya (Takasugi, Shunsuke) has joined the International Space Development Program which has plans for exploring the universe. (These "Americans" speak almost no English). Oki, Kazuya was made into a cyborg so that he could be a sort of super astronaut. He was to be the first of a team (hence the code name "Super-1", but the Dogma Kingdom attacked the base killing everyone except Oki, Kazuya.



After the desctruction of the American lab Oki, Kazuya returns to Japan. He took with him a machine which scanned his body and if it found that any of his cybernetic systems were damaged it repaired them.


Masked Rider Super One Arms


Kamen Rider Super-1 had built in weapons, the Five Hands. At the press of a button on his "Psycrod" henshin belt his hands would change color and give him access to different weapons. There was even a song about the Five Hands, Five Hand Rock.



His silver hands are the "Super Hands" providing the ability to use "Super Punch".



An electric beam can be fired from the blue "Electric Hands".



The red hands are "Power Hands", they provide strength for lifting extremly heavy objects.



Super-1's green hands are "Hot & Cold Hands"
The left Green Hand sprays a freezing mist.



The Right Hand was a flame thrower



The gold hands are called "Radar Hands". Super-1 can launch a missle, from each hand, which sends out a radar single allowing him to see things a distance away. The radar screen is on his wrists.



Super-1's combat techniques include "Super Rider Bolt Kick" and "Super Rider Moon Kick".



Oki, Kazuya rides V Machine, the first American made Kamen Rider motorcycle, its a Harley Davidson. V Machine converts to V Jet when Oki, Kazuya transforms into Kamen Rider Super-1.



When Super-1 needs to go off road he rides a suped-up dirt bike, Blue Version. The motorcycles have their own theme song "Go Super Machine sang by Oki, Kazuya himself, Takasugi, Shunsuke.



Like Skyrider, Super-1 was given advise and support by Tanihara, Jiro, played by the late Tsukamoto Nobuo. When he needed training Super-1 turned to Oki, Kazuya's kungfu instructor, Master Genkai.

Kamen Rider Super-1 is the second Kamen Rider series not have any previous Kamen Riders in it, though all eight of the earlier Riders do appear in the movie.


Masked Rider Super One Enemy : Dogma Kingdom





Super-1 fought against two groups Dogma Kingdom, lead by Telamacro, and Jin Dogma, lead by Admiral Akuma. It is unclear whether these groups were founded by the same Great Leader as the previous groups. It is my understanding that at the time they were considered sperate and Naya Goro, voice of the Great Leader, was not involved in this series, however the 10th Rider special seems to link all the groups (Shocker through Jin Dogma) with Badan, which was founded by the mysterious Great Leader (or Boss).



A fake Super-1 appears briefly in episode 37.
You can tell its not the real Super-1 by the yellow scarf.



Beginning with episode 24 Kamen Rider Super-1 is assissted by the Junior Riders Team
just as Kamen Riders 1, 2 and V3 were assissted by the Boys' Kamen Rider Squad.



In the movie Kamen Rider Super-1 the previous 8 Kamen Riders show up to help Super-1
in his fight against Dogma Kingdom. The other Riders do not appear in the series however.



After Kamen Rider Super-1 defeats the two terrorist groups Oki,
Kazuya finally becomes an astronaut, a Space Shuttle pilot to be precise.
